Realised benefits

When relocating old equipment there are multiple factors that need to be considered. Cenheard were tasked with determining the following for the equipment:

  • Determine a complete and up-to-date asset list for all machinery on site.
  • Is the machinery in a condition to justify the cost of relocation.
  • Will the machinery comply with all current machinery standards upon relocation, were applicable.
  • Is the machinery still serviceable.
  • Do all safety functions work as expected.

Cenheard’s inhouse team of machinery safety experts approached this by completing the project in multiple steps:

  • Compile a comprehensive asset list of all machinery onsite.
  • Conduct condition assessments on all machinery to determine their remaining life, including but not limited to:
    • General visual inspection.
    • Checking mechanical attributes for wear and tear.
    • Identifying electrical and control requirements.
    • Verifying all safety features of the equipment.
    • Checking availability of spare parts and serviceability.
    • Generating drawings for each piece of machinery, noting machinery dimensions and operating area requirements.
    • Identifying internal gaps in onsite OEM documentation.

From the above Cenheard were able to provide the client with a comprehensive report outlining all the upgrade requirements and associated costs.

This provided the client with cost justifications on machinery replacement, relocation and reuse. Identifying all gaps and ensuring the client had the relevant knowledge to proceed with the relocation without any questions on compliance.
